    • Air express: using UPS, DHL, FEDEX etc. to send your items from your factory to your Amazon FBA warehouse directly. But Amazon will not be responsible for or collect any duties, taxes or shipping costs associated with FBA inventory. All shipments are required to use Delivered Duty Paid (DDP), or sometimes referred to as “Free Domicile,” shipping terms.So you might need to send to your business address in USA first, so that you can pay the import duty and then call UPS to pick up them again to your FBA warehouse address.
    • Air freight: Ask a professional FBA shipment company who provides DDP services to finish the shipment. If you choose the Air freight that means from China to USA would by air freight then after the customs clearance process and pay the import duty. UPS or FEDEX would pick up your goods to Amazon FBA warehouse directly. The delivery time is about 7–15 days.
    • Fast sea freight: Ask a professional FBA shipment company who provides DDP services to finish the shipment. If you choose the Air freight that means from China to USA would by sea freight then after the customs clearance process and pay the import duty. UPS or FEDEX would pick up your goods to Amazon FBA warehouse directly. The delivery time is about 15–20 days.
    • Slow sea freight: Ask a professional FBA shipment company who provides DDP services to finish the shipment. If you choose the Air freight that means from China to USA would by sea freight then after the customs clearance process and pay the import duty. UPS or FEDEX would pick up your goods to Amazon FBA warehouse directly. The delivery time is about 25–30 days.

    The cost for the four option are all difference. Generally speaking: Air express > Air freight > Fast sea freight > Slow sea freight

  2. Different chargeable weight cause different shipping cost
    The cost of a shipment can be affected by the amount of space that it occupies on an aircraft, rather than the actual weight. This is the volumetric (or dimensional) weight. The volumetric weight of a shipment is a calculation that reflects the density of a package. A less dense item generally occupies more volume of space, in comparison to its actual weight. The volumetric or dimensional weight is calculated and compared with the actual weight of the shipment to ascertain which is greater; the higher weight is used to calculate the shipment cost.

    Volumetric Weight = Length x Width x Height / Volumetric Divisor*

    • * Standard Volumetric Divisor is 5000 for the weight in KG and dimensions in CM by air express
    • * Standard Volumetric Divisor is 6000 for the weight in KG and dimensions in CM by air freight or sea freight

    So the big one between the actual weight and volumetric weight would be the chargeable weight. The more chargeable weight the more delivery cost.

  3. Different Amazon FBA warehouse address cause different shipping cost
    After you create your Amazon shipment in your Amazon Seller Central, the Amazon system will tell you your Amazon FBA warehouse. Then different warehouse might cause different cost.

    Still assume you need send your goods to Amazon FBA in USA, then

    • Send to Western USA (zip code begin with 7, 8, 9)
    • Send to Central USA (zip code begin with 4, 5, 6)
    • Send to Eastern USA (zip code begin with 0, 1, 2, 3)

    would cause different shipping cost. If the goods is shipping from China, according the transportation distance, the shipping cost to Eastern USA > to Central USA > to Western USA

  4. Different dimensions of outer carton cause different shipping cost
    Still assume the goods it shipping from China to Amazon FBA in USA.

    • The actual weight of items with one outer carton be controlled at 10~30Kg (if it is exceeded, it must be confirmed in advance to avoid rejection or addition cost).
    • The longest side of the outer carton is less than 120CM, the shortest side is less than 75CM, and the shortest side *2+ the longest side is less than 330CM (if it is exceeded, it must be confirmed in advance to avoid rejection or addition cost).
  5. Different items cause different shipping cost
    If you choose the DDP service, since different item might cause different import duty and different operating fee, then would cause the different shipping cost.
  6. Different service cause different shipping cost
    If you need your shipment company to do some additional service for you, such like stick the FNSKU label or insert some file in the package, would cause the different cost.
  7. Different departure place cause different shipping cost
    The longer shipment distance the higher cost.
  8. How to get the exact shipping cost to your Amazon FBA warehouse
    Unless your items can be sent out in the same date when you get the quotation, the shipping cost might changed by the exchange rate, oil cost etc. irregularly changed.
  9. When you need to know the shipping cost for your goods to Amazon FBA warehouse, mostly you need to tell the shipment company:

    • The material of your items
